How to Play Shield Wall
Shield Wall is a purely skill-based strategy game with no element of chance in the outcome. The board is a 6×6 grid. The king (👑) sits near the centre. Your task is to place up to 8 shields anywhere on the empty grid squares to create a defensive formation around the king.
Click empty cells to place shields. Each shield can absorb 2 attacks before breaking. When you are satisfied with your formation, press "Start Battle!" — 20 attacks will then come from 8 possible directions (N, S, E, W, NE, NW, SE, SW) in a shuffled order. The game checks whether a shield lies in the attack path between the attacker and the king.
Your score is the total number of attacks your shield wall successfully deflects. If a ray reaches the king unblocked, the battle ends. The outcome depends entirely on your placement strategy — the attack order is the only variable element. Beat your personal best with smarter formations.
Strategy Tips
- Cover diagonal directions — they are often overlooked but equally dangerous.
- Place shields one step away from the king in each cardinal direction for maximum coverage.
- Shields in corners cover two diagonal lines — use them efficiently.
- A shield blocks the entire ray, so distance from the king doesn't matter — position does.
